It was 'hot in the city'....er village.

Like a dummy, I took off about 5pm for my run. I tried to be smart about it, filling up a water bottle and my water belt and hitting the road. I had a bandana around my head, plus a cap.

I took off down Matilda Street, my water and ice jostling with every step. Sadie stopped to pee about three times in the first .3 of a mile! Overall, things weren't going too badly.

We continued our jaunt through town, and out to the country. There was a breeze, so that did help matters. I could feel an occasional drip of cold water on my right calf.

As I turned onto a stretch of road that is a straight mile, I opted to take the shortcut and turn home at .3. I was hot, but I just felt an overall tired feeling.

We headed home, and I put Sadie back on her tie-out. Then, I took a long drink from the water bottle, caught my breath in the shade, and took off again.

I headed into the sun and back through most of my old neighborhood. My goal was to at least get in 3 miles. If I didn't, I couldn't have any of the Anchor Steam Beer I had chilling in the fridge. Hey, we all have to be motivated by something!

So, I made it back home, and after rehydrating, found out I had done nearly 4 miles. Needless to say, I was happy.

I grilled some chicken breasts, and had a few Yuengling's, then the Anchor Steam. I liked it.
