We had a nice time in Vegas. I can't say enough about how awesome Ellis Island Brewery and Casino was. Their beer is good, and $1 for a 20 oz. draft. They have a hefe, stout, light and my personal favorite, amber ale.
Their steak dinner special is the 'worst kept secret' in Las Vegas, just ask for it. $6.95 for a steak, baked potato, veggies, and a beer! LOVED IT!
We stayed at The Flamingo, but spent most of our time at their pool.
Vegas has changed so much in 13 years, it's hard to fathom. It does appear that the town is going away from the 'family destination' scheme, back to sex and gambling!
The visit to The Hoffbrauhas was a bit of a letdown. First of all, there's no longer a free shuttle to the Hard Rock from Caesar's, so we had to cab it. (Haus is across from Hard Rock.) The place is pretty cool, and the beer is pretty good. The food was pretty meh and overpriced. Overall, cheaper than a trip to Germany for Oktoberfest.
I had a good time, and there's no way I'd take kids out there. There's too much smut, you can't avoid the Mexicans trying to hand you cards featuring nearly-naked chicks and phone numbers to order prostitutes to your room.
Allegiant is having a special to Vegas, you can get free airfare for your guest when you book a trip for two. (hotel and air) www.allegiantair.com The offer ends at the end of the month.
