Yesterday, I got home from work and attempted to sneak in a run before the rain. Sadie doesn't like storms, so I put her in the garage, grabbed my cap, and sped off down the street.
The air was very heavy, and I tried to keep an eye to the west, as I knew the weather was coming.
All was going well, until I ran past Old Route 36. Then, the sky opened up, the wind picked up, and I was being pelted by wind-driven rain. It actually kinda stung!
Luckily for me, I only had to run into the rain for a bit, then I ducked down the alley and the wind and rain pushed me home. I snuck thru my neighbor's yard, then slipped into the house.
After ditching my wet clothes in the washing machine, I trotted upstairs to get a shower. I noticed that my wife wasn't home, but that really wasn't too surprising.
Once I got dressed, I started putting away some laundry, then I heard my wife yell from downstairs. She was happy to see me, but mad that she had been out looking for me. My phone was downstairs and on vibrate, so I didn't hear her call me...several times. Oops.
I must admit, running in the rain for the final stretch was sort of fun. It was only 3 miles, but it was an adventure.
