The 'doing it' is the thing.

Today after work, I came home and ran. I find that when I do that, I really can relax and enjoy the rest of my evening.

There was a pretty good west wind out there, and I was not looking forward to running into it. I took off to the east with Sadie. I could feel the sun and wind on my back. As we worked our way thru town, and eventually out of town, we got less protection from the wind.

As we got out into the open, I really found the wind refreshing. When we headed back west, and we were running right into it, I didn't mind!

At one point I found myself thinking about my time, then almost immediately, shutting that thought down and rebutting with, 'the doing it is the thing'. That is, being out and running, moving forward, that's it. It's not about negative splits or racing, just about doing it.

Today was one of those runs that was unexpectedly good. I don't know why. It was just nice to be out there and feeling steady.

When I got home and GMapped the route, I had done 6.4 miles! Pretty good!

Oh, the new Moto 5's arrived today.

i rarely run with my watch anymore. it's gotten to the point of where i forget to bring it with me when i run a race. it's kind of liberating, but every once in a while i'll bring it with me just to see where i'm at. yep...still slow :)
